Natalia Goncharova - A woman and the avant-garde, including Gauguin, Matisse and Picasso

Events in Florence: from 28 September 2019 to 12 January 2020

Unconventional, and versatile: these are the distinctive features of the life of Natalia Goncharova, the famous Russian painter of the twentieth century, which Florence is preparing to celebrate starting Saturday, September 28th. Palazzo Strozzi will be the location that will host the artist's works, among the most beautiful buildings of the Italian Renaissance, located in the historic center.

Through 130 works, the visitor will be taken on a journey between the Russian countryside, Moscow and Paris, three territories indelibly linked to the painter's name, to the rediscovery of her unconventional spirit that has strongly characterized all her artistic production. Prominent exponent of the current of Neoprimitivism first and of Raggismo then, the exhibition offers an unmissable opportunity to immerse oneself in the depths of the artist's biography, which has made unique, through his works, the experience of experimentation between styles and artistic genres of the last century, even very distant from each other.
